I love books. I love books that are well written. I love books that are well designed. I even love books that are well binded. After taking a couple of bookmaking courses over the past year, I have fallen in love with art of bookbinding! I can no longer pass a book without checking its spine!

I thought I would share two recently made books. I used coptic stitch binding, which not only allows the books to open completely flat but also allows you to play with the design of the thread on the covers! One is a sketchbook for me and the other is a journal for my sister :)

I may never buy another sketchbook again!

Gesture - Illustration Friday

The little girl could tell by his gesture that Teddy wanted more tea!

It's so nice enjoying the outdoors during the summer! Hope you have a great week!

Stay - Illustration Friday

When with a good book and good company, you can STAY in place for a very long time :)

Yesterday I accidentally deleted the Picassa Web Album where all my blogger files were stored. OOPS!! After going through my files and external hard drive, I managed to upload them all again (whew), and I also found this little illustration I did a while ago. It seemed to fit this week's theme! Happy Hump Day!

Playing MUSIC is remedy for any mood! I only discovered this recently. I starting learning how to play the ukulele about a year ago. It was my first instrument, and I was so amazed at how beautiful and intimate music making actually is! A few months ago, I decided to get the guitar. It's much more difficult and my fingers sometimes seem too small and weak, but the sound is so lovely, I keep practicing hoping to play well one day!

NB: My guitar isn't actually blue, but I wish it were!
